Once again, when I looked at the photos of Huangshan on my computer, I was wondering why no one has told me about this enchanting place in China earlier. I’ve heard about too much information about Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Suzhou, Hangzhou and many other popular or I’d rather say, well-advertised cities, but none of my friends, relatives or colleagues mention about Huangshan tours before.
When talked about the ties between me and Mt. Huangshan, I have to thanks a travel photo of Huangshan I accidentally chanced upon while I plan a trip to Shanghai. This photo intrigued me to surf the internet for more information. I looked over quite a lot travel websites on the internet, the breath taking photos of Huangshan greatly shocked me, and finally help me make my mind to take a side trip to Huangshan from Shanghai. I was also lucky to find out that several picturesque villages: Hongcun and Xidi, from what I know later, I found that they are listed on the World Heritage List, and indeed, they worth it.
As for me, I agree that the best way to visit Huangshan is via a three hour bus from Hangzhou. At first, I planed to take train from Shanghai or Suzhou, but was not making full preparation to spend more than ten hours on the train.
In order to find something different and something new, or I’d rather say, to make my travel more interesting, I decided to venture on my own, rather than getting a tour guide to arrange everything from Hotels , transport, meals and entrance tickets for me.
I, in the end, fulfill my dream to go to Mt. Huangshan, while I am looking forward to start this trip earlier, I’m not sure whether I can survive the three hours or eight hours of hiking to the summit of Huangshan, staying overnight at the summit to view the famous morning sunrise, but I’ll try my best. I am looking forward to climbing the eastern steps and descending via the western steps and conquering the various summits!
